I am currently a student at CEPT University and in the second year program of Urban Design.

The studio and the tutors have helped me in better understanding the different issues that    are faced by people in transit camps and figuring out how to help these people in need through the use of mobile infrastructure

Tanishka is a 2nd year student at the CEPT University pursuing Bachelors in Urban Design and hailing from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and has a keen interest in the development of cities and urbanisation. The project helped me understand the interdependence between the various aspects of people and infrastructure that make a successful community and help them strive on their own and become independent.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project Khorakha lari aims at establishing a network of sources to provide fresh food supplies and vegetables that cater to the resettled people at the earliest. This project is proposed under the larger project Nirmaan. Whilst primarily delivering food supplies on a daily basis, this mobile infrastructure simultaneously works on delivering education through live cooking classes, weekly workshops and awareness campaigns to raise awareness on the aspect of food and nutrition and how it can be practised smoothly, giving them an opportunity to learn and introducing them to various government schemes through installation of blackboards, volunteering people, local market, NGOs and the design team.
